General0.0 What is a programming contest ?Have a look at the contest page. 0.1 How can I contact the organisation ? Send email to the CHipcie! 0.2 How much is this going to cost ? That depends. Participating in the contest is free, but that excludes travel, food and a place to sleep. How much it will cost to come to Delft depends on your current location. We are trying to arrange cheap food and shelter here. This should cut back expenses considerably. 0.3 What is the address of the contest site ? Look at the bottom of the 'join' page.! 0.4 What is the postal address of the organisation ? Look at the bottom of the 'join' page.! 1. Contest1.0 My name is Forrest, Forrest Gump. Can I join the contest ?A programming contest is a battle of brains, but there's more to it than that. Simple common sense will do a lot of good. If you are wondering whether you are good enough, then take a look at the practise problems. These are real problems from programming contests. If you can do those, you've got no problem. If you don't know how to solve them all instantly, don't worry. These problems were not intended to be solved easily! Practise makes perfect. 2. Registration2.0 Our university wishes to attend, when should we register ?Most universities have some form of 'pre-rounds' to determine which participants are sent to the contest. Please don't wait with registering till after these selections have taken place. Register 'blank' teams at the registration site and fill in the participants as soon as possible when they are known. 3. Food and Shelter3.0 Does the organisation provide food ?During the contest and Saturday, yes. 3.1 Do I have to find a place to stay for myself ? No, we will help you in finding a place to stay. We even have a great cheap alternative to a hotel !!! [3.2] 3.2 How do I get a cheap place to stay ? Check out Sleeping at the contest site on the Join page. 3.3 How do I get to the contest site by train ? Plan your yourney to Delft online. Use this link to get there. PS: 'Amsterdam Airport' := 'Schiphol' in Holland. 4. Press5. Fun5.0 What can we do in the spare time before the contest ?The day before the contest will be filled with test sessions and other activities in which you must participate. All other times you are free to explore Delft with or without your team host if you want to. 5.1 Hey, I heard that hash is legal in Holland.... The name of this country is 'the Netherlands', weed and hash are NOT legal in a strict juridical sense but 'allowed' by the police; and we'd like you to be aware that previous experience has proven that people who confuse a dope-smoking weekend with a programming contest generally do not perform very well in the latter. Aside from that, go ahead at your own risk - we just won't take you to bed or clean up any ... side-effects. |
